April at Younode: Meet Our Global Team!

By PR Team

Hello from Younode's PR Team.

Sapporo has been getting a little warmer day by day, and it finally feels like spring has arrived.

This time, we would like to introduce one of Younode's defining characteristics: our global team structure.

Some clients are surprised to hear, "You have international team members too!" so here is a quick look at how our team is built.

1. A Small but Elite Engineering Team Across Borders

Younode is made up of Japanese and Bangladeshi team members.

Why did we intentionally build a borderless organization? We asked our CEO, Shiro Arai, about the thinking behind it.

Comment from CEO Shiro Arai

"The biggest reason is that I wanted to work with talented engineers from all over the world, without being constrained by location. When people with diverse backgrounds come together, I believe the perspectives brought to development become much richer."

2. Internal Communication Happens in English

Because we are a global team, English is the primary language used for internal communication.

The CEO, CTO, and our team members in Bangladesh are of course fluent, but some of our Japanese members will admit, "To be honest, my English is still a little shaky..."

Looking at how they manage day to day, a few practical habits stand out.

  • Subtitles are always on in online meetings: They make full use of captioning features and do their best to keep up.
  • The kindness of the team: Even when someone cannot express themselves perfectly in English, the team listens patiently, which makes it easier to speak without being afraid of mistakes.
  • Self-study: Some members take English conversation lessons outside work, and steady personal study is essential.

3. Japanese Lessons Have Also Started

While some members are learning English, others are learning Japanese.

To support our Bangladeshi members living in Japan, we currently hold Japanese lessons twice a week.

  • A dedicated instructor: One of our members is a certified Japanese language teacher and leads the lessons.
  • The current goal: Everyone is studying hard for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) in December 2026, reviewing and preparing consistently.

Final Thoughts

What did you think of Younode's global team structure?

We may be a small team, but our perspective is global.

If this article gave you even a small sense of the atmosphere we work in, then we are glad.
